There are a number of factors that influence the cost of shipping. One of the most impactful being, how soon do you need your buttons.

You can save a lot of money just by planning ahead.
Keep in mind that buttons are made from steel. A single button weighs very little, but when you multiple that by hundreds or even thousands, the weight adds up quickly, and so does the cost to ship.
