What is the difference between Standard and Metallic Buttons?

Modified on Thu, 12 Jan 2023 at 11:49 AM

All of our buttons are made from 100% recycled steel.  They are all laminated to provide durability and general protection from the elements.

Metallic Buttons
Metallic buttons are printed on acetate, a clear film.  Acetate allows for the silver shell of the button to show where ever there is white in your design.   The image below illustrates the difference between a standard finish button and a metallic button. The image on top is of buttons produced with our standard finish. The bottom image shows the same design printed on our acetate finish.  Anything which is white in the design appears silver in the acetate button.  The print on metallic buttons will have a vintage look, as the inks used are not opaque. We recommend only using bold designs with saturated colors for metallic buttons.

Standard Buttons

Standard buttons are printed on white paper so the colors are crisp and more similar to what you see on your computer screen.
